After Jeff Probst read the votes at Tribal Council, James -- who last season decided not to play one of his two hidden immunity idols and was voted out as a result -- raised his hands in victory. "I've lost my reign as dumbest survivor ever," he said, and it's easy to imagine that even Erik would agree.

If Erik is the dumbest survivor ever, Cirie just may be the smartest survivor ever. It was her suggestion that led to his downfall, and although the plan seemed far-fetched, it fell into place perfectly. "I wonder if he would give Nat his necklace," Cirie said to the other women, and they jumped on the plan.Earlier, after Amanda played her hidden immunity idol, Cirie noted that "Tribal Council is getting dangerous," and it's only getting more dangerous. As Cirie cast her vote, she noted that if you can't beat someone with muscle, you can beat them with your brain, and she certainly proved that this week.

After saving herself last week, Amanda established herself as a major player and continued to play hard this week. First, though, she said she felt secure with her threesome of favorites. "I'm not too worried about Cirie's loyalty," she said. "I trust my girls again. It's us three to the end."Amanda befriended Erik and used that friendship to help her alliance, convincing him to "team up" with her. She said she could "definitely manipulate his mind," and did that, convincing him to take her on the reward with him and send Parvati to Exile instead of Natalie. Later, she used that bonding time against him by pretending to feel betrayed, which encouraged Erik to give his necklace to Natalie.

Natalie was the recipient of Erik's Tribal Council gift of immunity, and she also played a pivotal role in the plan, which she didn't think would work. "Who would fall for that? I feel stupid listening to you guys," she told the other women. "This is just ridiculous."But it worked. Natalie turned against the last remaining fan besides herself because he had turned against her. After he won the reward challenge, Erik sent Parvati to Exile Island and took Amanda with him on the reward, leaving his alleged ally, Natalie, to stew. "It's no longer sunshine and happiness; she obviously had resentment," Erik said when he returned. Little did he know what that would eventually cost him.

Parvati's role in the plan was to go to Exile Island, which prevented both Natalie and Erik from finding the final hidden immunity idol, the last one that could be played at this final five Tribal Council. But Parvati didn't bother to look for it. Instead, she had her "own little private vacation," she said, and decided to "chill" and "tan." "It doesn't really matter if I find the idol or not, because Cirie, Amanda and me, we have the numbers," Parvati said. With as many blindsides as there have been this season, that was a risky move, but her alliance did stick
together.
